The cutest dracogenius in the Multiverse turns every draw into direct damage. 100 cards, tons of tokens, one scorching brain.
🐉 Commander cheat-sheet
| Stat | Details |
|---|---|
| CMC | U U R R R (6) |
| Keywords | Flying · “Can’t be countered” |
| Ping | Whenever you draw a card, Niv deals 1 dmg to ANY target |
| Cantrip | Whenever ANYONE casts an instant / sorcery, you draw a card |
He’s both engine and outlet: add a curiosity loop and the table evaporates.
🔧 Core packages
| Package | Staples | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Curiosity win | Curiosity, Ophidian Eye, Tandem Lookout (Soulbond) | Enchant/Pair Niv → draw → ping loop → infinite cards & damage. |
| Wheel-burn | Wheel of Fortune, Time Twister, Windfall, Echo of Eons, Wheel of Misfortune | Each player draws 7 → 28+ damage spread around; refuel to keep going. |
| “No-hand” engines | The One Ring, Mystic Remora, Rhystic Study, Consecrated Sphinx | Keep the cards (and pings) flowing when you’re not wheeling. |
| Free mana | Jeweled Lotus, Mox Opal, Chrome/Arcane Signet, Sol Ring, Mana Crypt | Turn-2/3 Parun possible; lowers self-taxing 3-colored cost. |
| Protection | Deflecting Swat, Fierce Guardianship, Force of Will / Negation, Pact of Negation | Niv is 6-mana; you must keep him alive once he lands. |
| Utility bodies | Ledger Shredder, Storm-Kiln Artist, Dragon’s Rage Channeler | Non-combo value creatures that incidentally ping with Niv. |
💥 Win lines & kill plans
| Line | Pieces | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Curiosity Loop | Niv + one of Curiosity / Ophidian Eye / Tandem Lookout | Draw → 1 dmg → draw again → repeat → deck empties. Finish with Blast-Furnace Hellkite style effect or just aim triggers. |
| Curiosity + Thoracle (cEDH option) | Above loop + Thassa’s Oracle | Once you’ve drawn deck, cast Oracle with 0 cards for instant win. |
| Wheels + Damage Doublers | Wheel spell + Teferi’s Ageless Insight / Psychosis Crawler | Every 1 card = 2 dmg or extra card; 28 damage from a Wheel becomes 56. |
| Ape Smash (backup) | Infinite Storm-Kiln Artist Treasures + Grapeshot | Wheels grow storm count; treasures pay for Grapeshot to finish. |
▶️ Typical game flow
| Turn | Actions |
|---|---|
| T1 | Island + Mystic Remora or Sol Ring + Signet. |
| T2 | Set up rock/land ramp (Izzet Signet, Talisman of Creativity). Hold removal. |
| T3–4 | Resolve Niv-Mizzet, Parun with counterspell backup. |
| T4–5 | Cast Curiosity → win OR cast a Wheel to shave 20-30 life off table, dig for loop. |
| Cleanup | Flashback Echo of Eons / Rebuy wheel with Narset’s Reversal if needed. |
🪄 Pilot pointers
- Protect the Genius – Aim to resolve Niv with 2 extra mana or a free counter in hand. Casting Curiosity when shields are down is game-ending; expect removal on sight.
- Sequencing Wheels – Drop Narset, Parter of Veils or Notion Thief first to lock out opponents’ draws while you still ping.
- Mana math – Parun costs 🔵🔵🔴🔴🔴➖ tap rocks early; a Jeweled Lotus or Jeska’s Will means turn-2 Niv in many pods.
- Stack discipline – With Curiosity loop on, stack Niv’s draw trigger LAST so it resolves first, ensuring infinite chain (draw triggers create damage which creates new draw etc.).
- Post-combo etiquette – Explain to table if you intend deterministic loop; speed through: “Draw deck, deal lethal, pass.”
🌈 Why this Chibi Niv deck rocks
- Adorable dragon wizard art masks a merciless control-combo core.
- Every spell you and your opponents cast turns into cards for you and damage to them.
- Compact 2-card win lets you fill the rest with whatever spicy Izzet instants you love—fireballs, time magic, or chaos.
Grab your Curiosity, spin the Wheel, and let little Parun melt the table in a rain of rainbow-colored fireballs!

Terrible pillows
Size: Queen - Pack of 2, Style: Medium, Configuration: Pillow
These pillows might be fine if you need them for a decorative sham, but definitely NOT to sleep on. They are super lumpy and soft, days after taking them out of package. It seems like there are just bunches of cotton strips in a row that are hard to fluff. They are also dark in some areas, so it looks like the pillow is stained, when in fact it's whatever material the stuffing is. I can't return them because they won't fit back in the box. Super disappointing.

Comfortable from the first night
Size: Queen - Pack of 2, Style: Medium, Configuration: Pillow
I found them comfortable and with good support for the head and neck. They are wide in size and feel soft when lying down. After several days of use they continue to retain their shape without problem.

Not as Firm as I had hoped
Size: Queen - Pack of 2, Style: Medium, Configuration: Pillow
A good pillow.
However, there is quite a difference between the manufacturer's and my idea of "medium firmness". I found this pillow much softer than I had anticipated.
I'll have to go for firmer for my next purchase.

I admit when I was wrong.
Size: Queen - Pack of 2, Style: Medium, Configuration: Pillow
3/29/26 - I took the pillows and put them in my dryer on steam refresh for the default 10 minute cycle.
OMG - they fluffed up and evened out to be soft and comfortable, no lumps whatsoever. If you like a soft pillow with some support, but not firm support, THIS is what you want. I am truly amazed.
==================================================
Previous review---They arrived in a vacuum seal bag. When you cut the bag and they inflate, they inflate lumpy like. Some areas are thick and some have to fill so, not very good. I am going to try washing them and drying them to see if they fluff up better.
Will post the results in a day or two.

Immediate neck and back pain
Size: Queen - Pack of 2, Style: Medium, Configuration: Pillow
Nice full pillows that holds its shape, BUT was NOT good head and neck support. I noticed an immediate difference. From non existent to growing neck pain in the first night’s use, through the week.
